Challenge

This new medical centre was designed to repurpose a building previously used as a bowling alley, which meant it had few windows and a large sunken floor of around 2,500 sqm. To create windows for the medical centre, we needed to cut through the concrete walls and insert a series of steel frames to house the glazing and security mesh.

Solution

After filling in the sunken floor and creating a new level, we created the internal walls for the consulting rooms. The door for each room was painted a different colour, allowing patients with sometimes limited English to easily identify which room they were to proceed to for the appointment, as well as bringing colour and interest to the suite.
